Michelle Obama has toothache, Barack calm

Soon to be first lady Michelle Obama has a hurting molar in the lower jaw, the New York Times reported today. This has created quite a stir across the American populace, which is kept up to date on every sneeze, every shower, every meal and every move of the Obamas and their pets.

Mrs. Obama will stay back in Chicago to be treated by her regular dentist. Informed sources say this move is a slap in the face of all dentists in Washington, by the snobbish Michelle.

These are, of course, the same sources who leaked information to the media about the most riveting post-election issue in America – which dog will the Obamas get for Malia and Sasha?

The back story that has gone largely unnoticed is that the New York Times‘ infatuation with Obama seems to be dwindling. While earlier Times articles referred to his Zen state,  this report describes Obama’s reaction simply as “calm”. Having agonized (in the Fashion section, no less) over where Malia and Sasha Obama will go to school, the Times had later complained that the Obama family was not accommodated in a government building that was unavailable. But more recently, the paper has restricted their idolatory and puppy-dog devotion to Obama’s golf game.

There has been some criticism, however. Stephen McNeal, founder of If-I-Get-Any-More-News-About-Obama-I-Will-Puke.com, wrote on his blog

I don’t care how the Obamas are going to redecorate the White House. I don’t care about whether Barack Obama will smoke in the White House or not. I don’t care about Michelle Obama’s fashion sense.

We had earlier considered Mr. McNeal for a position at Tundla Junction, but his callous apathy towards such issues of international import gave us pause.

The staff at Tundla Junction wishes Mrs. Obama a rapid recovery from the toothache.
